Wiseman Podcast Shirt

But flower arranging isn’t just an activity to idly pass the Wiseman Podcast Shirt and I love this time. As large scale events like weddings, graduations, and proms have been replaced with intimate gatherings, more and more people are using their own two hands to beautify them. “I’ve helped a coworker (via Zoom) style her wedding flowers in preparation for her Zoom wedding,” Kaylyn Hewitt, Bouq’s lead floral designer, tells Vogue. Bouqs recently featured a “make your own boutonniere” class on their IGTV, in service of grooms and supposed-to-be prom dates alike, as well as a Mother’s Day bouquet arranging session. “COVID has reminded me that flowers can be there when you can’t,” Hewitt says. So whether you’re looking to spruce up your home or adorn a special occasion, we asked Hewitt to share the best flower styling tips for the amateur arranger. Below, her suggestions. (And remember, says Hewitt: “flowers themselves do most of the work.”)

For a decor accent or table centerpiece: Start with adding in your greenery first. Greenery adds amazing texture to arrangements, but it also serves as the Wiseman Podcast Shirt and I love this foundation of your arrangement. Adding in greenery first makes adding in the other elements a bit easier later. Next, layer in your textural stems and accent blooms. A textural stem is something like wax flower or solidago and accent blooms are your smaller flowers—think spray roses or carnations (I love them). Your arrangement will definitely start to fill out at this stage and you’ll start to notice holes where your focal flowers can go. Lastly, dot in your focal flowers. Focal flowers are typically the biggest blooms in your arrangement–roses, peonies, sunflowers. Adding these in last helps to fill any holes that you have in your arrangement.
